WordPerfect Mac News
November 1995
You should have three items in this folder:
Ñ WP Mac News 11/95
Ñ November Macros Read Me
Ñ John's WP Glossary Macros
Ñ this Read Me file.
The WP Mac News is an Envoy file. You do not need WordPerfect to view it,
but you will need the Envoy Viewer. Here's where you can get it.
- ftp.wordperfect.com in the folder pub/wpapps/mac/envoy/edvmac.hqx
- U-Mich archives in pub/mac/util/text/envoyviewer1.0a.sit.hqx
- InfoMac archives in mac/info-mac/_Application/envoy-viewer-10a.hqx
- and quite a few other places in this electronic world of ours.
All of the above addresses are accurate as of 30 August 95.
November Macros Read Me is a WordPerfect document that contains the
macros described in the Macros of the Month article, as well as
instructions for installing and using them. You need a copy of WordPerfect
for Macintosh to be able to use these macros.
Some notes:
Ñ Some people have reported that when they double-click on the current
issue of the News, the May issue comes up. No, we didn't accidentally ship
the May issue again. You need to download the Envoy Viewer.
(What's happening is that you're double-clicking on the current issue, it's
looking for the Viewer, not finding it, and opening up the closest parent
application that you have on your hard drive, which in this case is the May
issue. That's why you're seeing May. So download the Envoy viewer, and
then all should be well.
In fact, while you're at it, you may want to re-download the rest of the
News files, because they've all been redone as Envoy files [not as whole
applications], so they're a lot smaller.)
Ñ The WP Mac News will look as it should if you have the Helvetica and
Palatino fonts installed in your system. Most people do because these
fonts come from Apple, but if the text looks strange, check your Fonts
folder or your System file to see if these fonts are installed.
If you're having a problem viewing the WordPerfect Mac News, you can call
for support at 800-861-2080 ($25 per call), or at 900-555-4545 (first
minute free, $2.00 per minute thereafter).
